In 2017 I was given the opportunity to curate the exhibition “Il tempo di un viaggio” at Savignano Photo Festival, Italy, a retrospective on the unreleased work of Italian photographer Marco Pesaresi about his journey on the Trans-Siberian railway.
I met Marco soon after his Russian adventure, just before his last trip. In his photographs I have always recognized something of him and of the Russia I got to know over a decade ago.
Last year I had the pleasure to work together with Postcart Editions on drawing up the exhibition catalogue, a collection of images that I see as successful accidental encounters, as exquisite examples of sincere and honest photography. Not presuming to explain something, but rather to understand.
